Bio

Captain Mike Deto LOVES to fish.  He arrived in Florida in 1975 at the young age of five.
The whole family came down which included one brother & three sisters and of course his mom and dad.


Capt. Mike 1975 - Just getting started on the Venice Jetties @ 6 yrs old 
Capt. Mike in 1980 on his Dad's 1971 Seacraft,  @ age 11

As soon as they arrived Mike's dad Rich Sr. and brother Richie entered the weekly tarpon tournaments in 
Venice and Boca Grande.. These events lead to a true love of fishing for Mike because of their success. 
He then realized it was for him too and continued to fish with his family and friends.

In 1998 Mike moved to a waterfront location in Venice which gave him even more 
opportunity to find the hot fishing spots.  Once again he found out there was more to his 
fishing than just catching fish.  He developed a passion for the sport.

Finally, in 2004 he moved to the beautiful Manasota Key and pursued
his captains license.  After receiving his license he went on to obtain his 
Federal permits which are also mandatory in Federal waters. (beyond 9 miles out)

His dream had finally come true 30 years into the sport.
He now has over 6,000 offshore boating hours  and 500 private fishing spots.

He believes in making YOUR fishing dreams come true!!!
